Lots Of Love Records 2015
Review by David Bowling
The blues may have originated from the Southern Delta of the United States but now they have spread aroud the world. Good blues is being produced all around our little planet, which brings us to Lazer Lloyd.
I can safely say that I have never reviewed an album by someone who has won an Israeli Blues Award but so it is with Lazer Lloyd. He was born in Israel but spent his formative years in the United States. He now calls both countries home but has immersed himself in the American blues.
Whether playing a Gibson 335, a Fender Telecaster, or a Stratocaster, he is one of those guitar players who has the technical ability to produce clean and clear notes. His music may add elements of gospel and southern rock but ultimately, he is rooted in the blues.
His stories may come from a different perspective and orientation at times, but the messages are eternal. Songs such as “Burning Thunder,” “Suffering,” “Rocking In The Holy Land,” and “Time To Love” explore topics such as the push-pull of life, fate, God, and the blues itself.
Lazer Lloyd has produced an album of fine blues that are relevant in any part of the world.
